Got to try out the S770 recently. The engine has solid power, and it handles full loads effortlessly. I've had some seat time in the S770 lately. The active yield thing is really handy-calibrating's basically a non-issue now. Makes setup way faster, especially if you're always moving fields. The automation side is cool, sure, but sometimes feels like I could just crank some stuff myself and save the fuss, maybe I'm old school. Ergonomics are solid, the seat swivels just right when watching the auger, you don't have to twist up like before. Some of the electronics can feel like too much tech if you're just wanting to get going and not fiddle. Reliability's been spot on so far, no hiccups mechanically. Service and parts still cost you though-JD never surprises there.

After spending a season running the S770, here's my two cents. It's a solid performer, no doubt. It managed our 16-row heads without issue, adapting well to rolling terrains. However, when comparing it to higher-class combines, there are noticeable differences, such as slightly lower cleaning capacity and unloading speed. Still, it balances these with advantages like manageable fuel consumption and sufficient power for most practical operations. I'd suggest looking closely at your operation scale before committing.

So I've put in some long hours with this S770, mostly corn (central IL). The auto-adjust system's cool, but sometimes wish it let me do a bit more myself-old habits die hard I guess. Camera on the grain elevator is handy, does help check for splits and trash. Controls are better than the last rig I used, pretty easy to figure it all out in one night. Ride's decent and noise in the cab wasn't too bad, though seat could be softer if I'm picky. Not super happy with the cost for all the shiny new stuff, but I doubt that's changing. No breakdowns yet, crossing fingers.
